Q&A with Vicki Gottardo: Qualification Reform Project Update

24/06/24

Vicki Gottardo, our GM of Strategy and Delivery, shares exciting insights into our transformative Qualification Reform project!

We’ve conducted an initial review of 42 core qualifications across the UEE Electrotechnology, UEG Gas Industry, UEP Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector, and UET Transmission Distribution and Rail Sector.

This review has pinpointed key areas for refinement and improvement, guiding us towards our goal of creating a more effective and responsive VET system. Our main objectives are to:

  • Elevate the status and responsiveness of the VET system
  • Attract more students equipped with relevant knowledge, skills, and core capabilities
  • Enhance the quality of delivery by reducing compliance overload

What’s next? We’re committed to developing a safer, simpler, and fit-for-purpose qualification system tailored for the energy industry.
