Jobs and Skills Councils

Jobs and Skills Councils have been established and funded by the Australian Government (managed by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations) to provide the industry with a stronger, more strategic voice in ensuring Australia’s VET sector delivers stronger outcomes for learners and employers.

Collaborating through councils

Ten industry-based groups have been identified across different sectors, with Powering Skills Organisation (PSO) appointed in the Energy, Gas and Renewables sectors. The JSCs initiative is an exciting step towards ensuring Australia's future workforce has the skills that they need for this country’s industries to continue to grow rapidly.

Implementation, promotion and monitoring

Implementation, promotion and monitoring

Acting as a change agent, we will work with industry and RTOs to ensure training products are fit for purpose and easily implemented. Our focus is to meet the needs of industry, employers and individuals, mapping pathways that result in meaningful careers. Continuous improvement will be an outcome of monitoring the impact of training product development and implementation.
